Content wise Fever Pitch have a very basic guide to installing shortlists in Football Manager 2008. It may not be the most useful guide, as it’s something most people should be able to do without to many problems, but it’s good to see people covering the basics once again, rather than the awful concept of “lets write a team guide about some obscure team that nobody will be interested in”.
Fair enough if people wrote the odd guide to interesting managerial opportunities such as Leeds United, but we’ve got the point nowadays when people are just writing any old crap for the sake of it, at least if you’re going to write crap at least write something which has a wider target audience than a random team guide.
But yeah anyway, there’s guide from Fever Pitch on how to install shortlists in FM2008 and it’s good to see the basics being covered, so long as they keep it up and cover all the basics.
TI have a new article up. Another bland community review looking at erm I’m not sure what; let’s just say “the community”. Just like many of TI’s recent articles, it doesn’t go anywhere or offer anything and I’ll happily make the rather brash statement TI is the worst regularly updated site around at the moment.
Of course there are sites that are worse, that don’t update, but when it comes to quality of content TI’s right at the bottom, nobody cares for bland community analyses, which cover very small and often insignificant areas.
Fair play if you’re going to right about the community, just do it well, do it in depth and actually have a point and a solution, unlike the sorts of articles which have been produced of late.
Finally FM Updates have a rather controversial fix to a problem I’ve yet to notice in Football Manager 2008, which causes some of the top Turkish teams to become bankrupt very quickly.
The fix for this basically involves fiddling the clubs stats to make them more powerful, have bigger stadiums and greater attendances, which then screws up the whole balance of the game, just as much as these clubs going bankrupt does.
Lets just hope for a proper fix from SI sometime soon ay?
