Sorry for the lack of updates in a few days, very busy as ever, its just this time of year I suppose, but no worries I should hopefully be getting a rhythm going again before long.

The official Football Manager site has a number of new updates, looking at a variety of things.

Firstly there’s a very interesting look at how David Beckham will fair at LA Galaxy according to Football Manager 2008. Will Becks be the star of the side and propel them to success or will he be held back by the inferior players surrounding him and be forced to see his dream of making American Soccer popular fizzle out?

There’s also a fantastic, interesting and insightful article looking at managers down the years, with this particular piece looking in dept at Brian Clough and his managerial techniques and how it can all be related to Football Manager.

Last but not least from the official FM site, there’s a little piece giving some of the best quotes from real life managers from the past two months, if only we could utter some of these words of wisdoms in FM? Then again do you really want to take a juicy bite out of your youngsters in the same way Mourinho does?

TFMS also has a number of new and interesting pieces with Mikey Magoo, the author, coming up with a little tip which I’m sure many of you will overlook, by recommending that we think again about all the add ons we’ve been installing on FM2007 and consider sacrificing them for a bit more speed, not a bad idea at all, although from personal experience not everything can be removed, for instance how do you remove club logos? Am I stupid or do they stay whatever you do?

On top of this TFMS have found a whole host of new screenshots of FM2008 and, despite being in a foreign language, have endeavoured to give a brief analysis of each one, explaining just how it might influence our Football Manager experience.

FM View have a new article up giving the authors first thoughts on Football Manager 2008 following all the feature previews we’ve had so far this year.

Also from FM View you can find a nice, if a tad short, little article concerning three CM/FM legends of years gone by in the form of Mark Kerr, Daniel Braaten and Tonton Moukoko Zola. The article looks at what happened to each of these players in real life and why they never turned into the legends we all thought they would become.

Some bad news from FM Updates which I unfortunately missed in my last update, Q2ThaZ is giving up creating data updates after three years of being at the forfront of the Football Manager Data Update world. However he’s looking for a dedicated individual to take on the data update come the opening of the January transfer window, if you think you could help out, then get in contact with him over at FM Updates.
