Ah today is a good day. For once a number of the smaller sites are updating. It often puzzles me how the smaller, newer sites fail to update. One would presume that a new site would be filled to the brim with enthusiasm and would do everything it could to get noticed. Alas that’s often not the case, I don’t know why, perhaps you could shed some light on the matter? Do feel free to comment, with any explanations.
First up Footygamer have updated with an interesting look at how morale has been implemented in Sports Interactive’s latest version of Football Manager. Smiggs, the author, looks at often overlooked features of media comments and team talks and the disastrous effects they can have on the game. I’m often puzzled over which statement would be best suited to each situation, in many ways I’d prefer more options say 10-20, then at least you can have a go at finding a middle ground between two statements, rather than being unsure which to go for and risk completely ruining your squads mentality by choosing the wrong.

Blog FM is great new site that’s popped up today/yesterday. It’s another article related blog themed site, which looks to add to the more intellectual, thought provoking side of the scene, rather than the “we’re here to help” resource side of the community.
It’s a great little site, which has started of with a whole host of top draw content including; a basic opinionated round up off the community not all dissimilar to what this very site attempts to do on a daily basis, an excellent article looking at possibility of seeing Football Manager appearing on the Nintendo DS something which I’d never really thought of before, but have since been converted into supporting the idea.
Also on the site you can find an insightful overview of the English Premiership, it doesn’t give any real nuggets of gold but is a nice introduction to anyone starting in the league nonetheless.
Finally the site has some tips on how to deal with having downloaded FM2007 and found you can’t play it because it needs a CD. Now, now, now before you go running to report me or the site to Sports Interactive give it a read and you’ll understand why I decided to plug it, rather than report it.
Legendary FM Sound Pack creator furney89 has released a statement aimed at everyone out their wondering when an FM2007 version of his sound pack will be released, here it is:

FM Story Writers have updated with a guide I seriously never expected to see on a Football Manager Fansite in all my years. It’s a guide to using BB tags such as [b] and [i] appropriately. It seems a lot of people haven’t quite got the hang of such things yet, if you’re one of those people then you should probably check this out, before someone discovers your dirty little secret and make a fool of you in public.

FM Graphics have nice little Logo FAQ, explaining the basic ins and outs of both creating logos and using downloaded ones. I quite like the idea of an FAQ to explain things a bit better and I’d love to see FM Graphics create one for every kind of graphic and use it as a focal point for helping users visiting the site, rather than just let the FAQ’s become bogged down in a list of guides under some category somewhere.

Pretty Addicted have a nice little concise guide to training in FM2007. It doesn’t go into to much detail or get bogged down in pointless chitter chatter it’s straight to the point and easy to glance at in order to find out what you want to know… which is of course what training areas should you focus on for each position.

Although not strictly a Football Manager Fansite, Gameblog has two articles up, one looking at tips and tricks for Football Manager 2007 such as how to get the real players in the game from Holland and Germany, where to download FM graphics and a few good players to buy. On top of that FM tips and tricks article the site also has an article compiling a list of all the authors favourite/recommended signings in Football Manager 2007.

A lot of sites have guides on where to put graphics once you’d downloaded them and FM Formation is no different. I’m sure you’ll have read such a guide before but it’s only fair to give it a plug:
