If you're not the kind of manager that likes to manage the big clubs in FM2008, instead prefering to start at the bottom, with the smaller clubs in the lower leagues, then this is the place for you, as you can find a number of hints and tips for managing in the lower leagues in Football Manager 2008.
Alright I just thought i would give a few tips on LLM as I am a keen LLMer and I thought I would give a few tips on what has worked for me over the years.
- When you first join the club try to bog down your key players and staff to full time contracts, this way they will train more and develop more as a player
- Check for your parent club. If you have a parent club try to get a few good loans in for your side. Also if you do not try and ask the board for one. A bit on young flair and quality could be the difference of you getting a mid-table finish and getting promoted. Having a good feeder club may also give you some financial help which is always needed as a small club
- Free transfers, these are key when you are a small side needing some players on bosmans. Go for a bit of experience if needed and offer lots of people transfers because some are bound to reject and some will accept
- Find a good training schedule for your side, This could balance out your players and also help them to be 100% ready in the matches you face as every match is vital when you are playing in the lower leagues
- Same as above really but instead of a training schedule this time it is a tactic. Try and create or download a good tactic that fits your clubs style and way of football. Dont go and get an all guns blazing attacking formation when you don't have any decent forward players.
- And Finally analise for your next game. Look at the scout report and adapt your formation, squad selection for the game you are about to play.
I am not saying I am an LLM expert but these are just some of the things that have helped me along the years as a keen LLM Fmer.
