Repetitive media comments in FM2008

When playing football manager avidly for several months a year, the last thing you want is something which happens time and time again. I am of course referring to the somewhat, ill-imaginative media comments at your, the managers disposal. If you declare interesting in a player, you get the same 5 or 6 phrases to use. Similarly when in the build up for a big game, you get asked how do you believe your team will do? And you get a similar set of 6 phrases to use. Pretty basic, for what is supposed to be the best simulation around.
Since the introduction to the media, into the game, I was all for it and still am. It, if used well, is a fantastic idea. As them phrases change from game to game, meaning from Football Manager 2007, to 2008, it is all good. However, it should chance in the game also. 6 different phrases should come up nearly enough each time, introduce a element of tedium to the game. I am sure the players who do play the game constantly will have great benefit from this.
Also in which they change could be determined on the manager personality. Meaning, if you are constantly coming out with the same type of negative or positive, rash, subtle or straight to the point responses to the questions from the media, then they should take advantage and there should be more variation in those type of questions. This can easily be done, and would certainly benefit of the media as well as improving you the manager, and your whole persona as a manager.
Over the past couple of versions of the game, I have noticed a few features which look really great, and the point of them is giving us the manager a whole sort of persona. Obviously, with such introduction to my ‘smart response' for one of a better title, you the manager can really make a name for oneself. It could be to like show you are the Neil Warnock type manager, or even a more reserved down to earth type manager like Steve Coppell. But, the number one thing would to be who you are, and see how it would truly reflect you as a manager.
Features which I have noticed which have been put in to try and great you as the ‘Football Manager' include, and one newly added to this game, been ‘total earnings'. A fantastic features in more ways than one, it can be taken a little tongue in cheek somewhat; seeing as it is a nice little insensitive. It could be to show off your manager prowess. However, the thing that shouts out at me, is that SI (Sports Interactive) are really paying more attention to involve you as a more central part of the way you manage.
The less obsolete way in which I was lead to believe such conclusions, was the introduction of the manager contract. Something which had never been seen until the days of Football Manager. Yet another ingenious feature by SI. This really made me feel a sense of purpose, along with giving you a bit more control as to what goes on. More realistic, something which is always the aim, and something which I open with arms spread wide.
Now, it is very early days to start talking about Football Manager 2009, but this is something which I would love to see. The introduction of my ‘smart response' idea and seeing SI throw in a couple of smart features to make managing in Football Manager more manager and career orientated.
