Overall & Expectation
Aberdeen are one of the better sides in the SPL, they have the squad which can get them a continental finish (3rd, 4th). They have the ability to beat sides like Hibs and Hearts and can possibly if you have the correct tactics can mange to get a result off of the Old Firm. Financial situation is fairly poor, you don't get much of a budget but I suggest getting some back-up players. As that is where Aberdeen lack, they have a good first 11 but not many worthy back-up players.
Goalkeepers:
You have two main keepers in the squad. Jamie Langfield is your no.1, he is one of the best in the SPL. His mental stats really show on pitch, I sometimes even choose him for vice captain. and He should also hopefully get a couple of caps for Scotland. I suggest offering him a long term contract, he's definitely worth the money. As an alternative you have Derek Soutar who is an average keeper and good to have on the bench. I can't really say much about him, I've never played him!
Defenders:
This is one of Aberdeen's strong points, the defence. Zander Diamond is one of your most valuable players. He's brave, determined and works very hard. He connects with Lee Mair very well, too. I suggest playing both of them at the back. They work well. As your left/right backs are concerned you have no concern. Dan Smith is the next Roberto Carlos in my eyes, his passing, speed and skill is awesome. You also have Jackie McNamara, who is handy to have as he's got good experience and is calm and plays well when told.
Midfielders:
You have a quick left winger who works well with Dan Smith, his name is Aluko he is a loanee from Birmingham, he's quick and likes to fly down the wings into the box and either give a simple pass or have a shot on goal. (I absolutely suggest you sign him permanently). On the other side is de Visscher who is an excellent Dutch winger, him and Aluko are perfect for Aberdeen. They always play well and get good crosses into the box. In the middle is Scott Severin, who in my opinion is Aberdeen's best player. He's practically Steven Gerrard but for Aberdeen (need I explain more), next to him is Barry Nicholson, who I don't rate at all. He's poor, slow and has no skill left. Look below at recommended buys. Also you've got Derek Young who is a reasonable player, don't be put off by his stats. it's the performance that counts!
Strikers:
Steve Lovell will supply the goals, he is a machine. He is hard to keep at the end of season though, try to keep him happy! He's worth keeping. Lee Miller who is the other striker, they make a great partnership together, Lee Miller usually makes the assists with his killer passes or manages to get a head on something.
Recommended Sales:
Barry Nicholson - You should be able to get a few bob off this fellow. He really isn't a nessecity at Aberdeen, in my opinion.
Recommended Buys:
Geoff Horsefield - Get him on a free, he is awesome for back-up. He scored 6 in 3 for me, at one point.
Jody Morris - He should replace Barry Nicholson, get him on free.
