Southend United Challenge

You're challenge is to bring Southend United into the Premier league within 5 years and to then keep them up in their first season. You start off with no money to spend and a squad tipped to possibly get into the playoffs but this isn't a certainty.
The second part of the challenge and maybe the hardest is you must get to the Semi Final of one of the domestic cups within this time.
Both of these challenges have never been produced in real life so can you do it?

Southend is a beach town at the South East of England and is still popular for Londoners to have a nice weekend away from the busy city.
