Eggert Jonsson is a very hot prospect on Football Manager and he plays for Scottish SPL side Hearts. At only 18 years old and with the talent he shows at such a young age he really does have what it takes to go to the top. I personally like bringing through the youth for my teams and with Eggert I really did take a chance on him, however he repaid me for my confidence in his ability by keeping who I thought were first team players out the side. He offers a lot to your team, firstly he has got lots of energy on the park which shows in his enthusiastic character. His stat for Stamina is 16 and Natural Fitness 18 so he works his socks off for the whole game. So for example if your side is 1-0 down then I'd recommend throwing on Eggert for that spark he brings with his energy and enthusiasm to drive the team forward in hope fo getting a goal. Also you have to remember he still is a young boy and is living in a country he knows nothing about and for him to develop the way he does he deserves a lot of credit.
One thing that makes Eggert a player with potential to go far is his high work rate, at 15 it shows he is willing to work hard for his team and also to work hard in the sense that he is always wanting to become a better player. I strongly suggest if you are playing him that you play a taller and more physical center midfield alongside him, Eggert is still not all that strong which you can understand as he is still only 18 years old. His Hearts contract runs out in the summer of 2009, so if you are a bit further in to your Football Manager career then you may be able to snap up the youngster. Also by that year he will have got even better and his Physical attributes in particular will have improved. Some of us can be guilty of expecting to much from players, in particular youngsters but with Eggert you have to be patient. Give the lad time to settle in and get used to the training schedule, it may take a while for him to get to his full potential but believe me it's worth it. One down side is he won't score many goals for you, however I don't really mind as I just want Eggert to create things for my team and control the midfield.
Eggert is valued at £200,000 at the start of the game, I recommend a starting bid of £200,000. I have found from past experiences that Hearts don't rate this lad highly and signing him is very easy as they are very reluctant to get him out. Another option is a loan deal, again Hearts should agree to letting him go out on loan. He will go to some higher placed League 1 clubs and above in England and another benefit is that he does not demand high wages which is good. For training, I would recommend this for Eggert and to use the Midfield MC option contained in the download. Using this you will begin to see improvements in his stats over a period of time. Also if you sign him for a bigger club as an investment for the future then start getting him tutored from your best Midfield center, I found this very effective for me and is just another tool in getting the best out of Eggert Jonsson. As you can see from the screenshot he really does have potential and I really hope you take the chance on him like I did.
