Kameni began his professional career in the 00/01 season for French second division side Havre Athletic Club after he was the youngest footballer to win an Olympic gold medal at aged 16. Despite this, he failed to break into Havre's first team, making only 2 appearances in his 3 years at the club. He also spent a year at AS Saint-Étienne on loan but failed to even make an appearance.
After 4 years of disappointment in France, Espanyol brought Kameni to Spain for an initial fee of 600k. Making 38 appearances in his first season, Kameni has since established himself as an important part of the club. Having made 122 appearances in all for Espanyol, Kameni has won the Copa del Rey with the side, as well as reaching the 2007 EURO Cup Final.
From his Gold Medal success at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 right up to the present, Kameni has featured heavily for his national side;guiding them to victory at the African Cup of Nations in 2002, he also won best African Goalkeeper for the 06/07 season. He has won 52/32 (depending on source) caps for Cameroon in total.

Kameni is a very solid, consistent keeper. I haven't yet signed him on '09, but I definitely will. On 07 and 08 he was good enough performer to keep Van Der Sar out of my United side week in week out. As he is young, he is sometimes prone to costly errors but they are few and far between.
Strengths
Reflexes 20. Not much to say, arguably the most important skill...he reacts quickly both to shots, and is first to the cross 9 times out of 10.
One on ones 18. Though his rushing out isn't great, his one on ones added with his reflexes, bravery (15) and composure (17) make him a very useful off-the-line keeper. This works very well if you have a defence that pushes up a lot and tends to leave space.
Jumping 18. Coupled, again, with reflexes; he is generally capable of saving pretty much anything when he's on form.
Weaknesses
Distribution. Throwing 8 and kicking 14 generally means he gives the ball away a lot. If your team are counterattacking and need the 'Keeper to throw out quickly, he might not be the man for you.
Eccentricity 15. This is personal preference really, a lot like their 'Keepers to be a bit wacky, but I prefer a what you see is what you get type feller.
Balance 11. Quite an important stat in a keeper, and he occasionally loses it when a corner's coming in and a few are jostling for it. Coupled with aerial ability (13), you need to make sure you have CBs who are good headers of the ball.
Summary
I honestly think you will hard pushed to find a better Goalie. The areas of his game where he is strongest, reflexes in particular, are something a player is either good at or isn't. The weak areas of his game are generally things that can be developed with age, such as his handling and distribution. At the age of 24, his mental stats are already quite good and will only go up.
His contract runs out in 2009, though he is currently considering an offer from Espanyol at the start of the game. If you want him, go in quick or he'll sign the new contract and his price will bump up. My scout tells me I'd need to table a bid of about 4 million for Espanyol to accept; so I'd suggest starting there and going as high as you feel.
As for Kameni himself, he will certainly sign for any side expected to challenge for a European place, though I'm not sure if he'd go for mid table sides.
Certainly worth a try though eh?
