I want to introduce my new football club - Hull City. I'm a new manager of "The Tigers"! After some doubts I decided to start the brand new game in Football Manager 2009 demo with the team that you, my dear readers, selected for me in the poll.
Hull Info
Hull had never played in the Premier League and has no rivals in it therefore.
Starting Hull in Football Manager 2009
By the way, pay attention to the new fields in clubs information screen: Average Ticket Price and Average Season Ticket Price. Just some small but nice new FM 2009 features.
Though the most interesting information on the screen shot is, of course, Media Prediction of taking 20th position in the end of the season. Well, seems like I have the weakest team by squad in the Premier League. Thinking
But I didn't choose 'Try to avoid relegation' and assured the board that Hull must avoid returning into the Coca-Cola Championship. Quite brave. For that I have $7.25M for transfer due to this claim:
Season expectations, Hull, FM 2009
Using new Football Manager 2009 features
Assistant gives advices about squad
In the very start of the season I was reported by Hull assistant of strength of players I have:
Assistant squad report in Football Manager 2009
The most useful thing here is that assistant determined the most problematic position and even gave some pieces of advice about it. There are 3 goalkeepers adviced by him: Ian Walker, Joe Murphy, Paul Smith. What I can say! He is right about the problem: Hull has quite weak goalie Boaz Myhill. I will certainly work in this direction during transfers period.
My first press conference
It was pretty interesting to answer those questions. I was optimistic about the debut of my Hull in the Premier League. Comparing different areas of the team I singled out the midfield admitting that I have the rather good halfbacks in the squad:
I praise Hull's midfield, FM2009
What's interesting - the reaction of one of the midfielders Halmosi on my thoughts told on the press conference (new features as well):
Reaction on my praise, FM 2009
So that's was my first experience with Football Manager 2009. Frankly speaking, I'm playing it not too much due to numerous bugs. But I don't stop the process of managing Hull, just doing it pretty slowly looking forward to release of FM 2009 and the first patch for it.
